Editorial correction: This is a manufacturer-sourced comparison. ThermalFinn has not performed hands-on testing of this heater. Earlier test scores, temperature measurements and durability results have been removed because we cannot substantiate them.

The Harvia Cilindro is worth considering when you want a pillar-style electric heater and have space for its stone load and required clearances. The purchasing decision starts with the exact regional model, controller and installation manual.

What Are the Harvia Cilindro PC90E Specifications?

The table describes Harvia item HPCS9U1HUL, the North American PC90E. Other Cilindro variants have different requirements. Harvia’s US product record is the source.

ItemManufacturer specification
Rated output9 kW
Supply240 VAC, single phase, 60 Hz
Stone load200 lb / about 90.7 kg
Room range141–494 cubic feet
SizeApproximately 40 in high, 14 in wide, 13 in deep
ControlsSeparate control unit
Certification shownETL

Harvia describes a partially open casing and says water placement changes the character of the steam. This does not establish a measured temperature advantage over other heaters.

Does the Cilindro Come With a Controller?

Distinguish a heater-only listing from a complete package. A seller may bundle a control system and stones, but that does not make them standard contents of every PC90E listing. Ask the seller to identify the heater item number, compatible control unit, sensors and any remote-start accessories on the quote.

The earlier version of this article mixed a 400 V three-phase specification with US shopping advice. The model above is a 240 V single-phase version. Do not use one region’s instructions to install another version.

Compare a US Package

Before ordering, compare the delivered total for the heater, controls, stones, required accessories and installation. Confirm the shipping region, return costs and warranty eligibility. A low heater-only price is not directly comparable to a complete bundle.

Stone Capacity and Steam

The listed stone capacity helps you compare physical requirements; it is not a score for steam quality. We have no measured recovery curve, room temperature map or long-term failure record for this heater. Use Harvia’s current manual for the permitted stones and loading method.

Installation and Room Fit

Have your installer check the exact model’s manual against the room, glazing, wall materials, clearances and supply. The manufacturer’s volume range is a selection starting point, not an installation design. Do not select wire sizes or protective devices from a general comparison article.

Cilindro or HUUM DROP?

The Cilindro and HUUM DROP deserve separate installed quotes. Check the mounting arrangement, control package and usable space before comparing price. We cannot rank their heat-up speed or steam quality without comparable measurements.

For the heat-storage design discussed elsewhere on this site, see the Harvia Forte model-status guide. That article concerns a different regional model and should not be treated as an interchangeable US purchase option.
